Decisive Benrahma goal earns NEOM S.C. win against Al Fayha

NEOM, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – Aprill 4, 2026 – NEOM S.C. secured a valuable 1–0 victory over Al Fayha in Matchweek 27 of the Roshn Saudi League, at King Khalid Sport City Stadium in Tabuk.

Head coach Christophe Galtier started with Luís Maximiano in goal, protected by a back four of Islam Hawsawi, Nathan Zézé, Ahmed Hegazi, and Mohammed Al Burayk. In midfield, Amadou Koné and Abdoulaye Doucouré were joined by Alaa Hejji and Said Benrahma, while Alexandre Lacazette and Luciano Rodríguez led the attack.

 

First Half

NEOM S.C. began on the front foot, with an early effort from Benrahma hitting the crossbar. Shortly after, Hegazi delivered a perfect pass to Al Burayk, whose powerful shot was brilliantly saved by Al Fayha’s goalkeeper Mosquera.

Al Fayha responded, most notably in the 16th minute when Yassine Benzia’s effort also struck the bar. Benrahma remained the most dangerous player for NEOM S.C., testing the keeper again, while Rodríguez also had a chance that went unrewarded. The first half ended goalless.

 

Second Half

Maximiano made a key save early in the half to deny Smalling and keep NEOM S.C. level. Both sides exchanged attacks, but NEOM S.C. regained control as the half progressed.

In the 73rd minute, Muhannad Al Saad came on for Lacazette, and just one minute later, he delivered an assist for Benrahma, who finished clinically to score the decisive goal.

NEOM S.C. managed the game well in the closing stages, with Maximiano making another crucial save in the 88th minute. Abdulmalik Al Ayyari also made his return from injury in stoppage time.

The match ended 1–0, with NEOM S.C. earning three important points to move up to 36 points and 8th place in the standings.
