NEOM S.C. go down at home to league-leading Al Nassr

NEOM, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – November 8, 2025 – NEOM suffered a 3–1 defeat against Al Nassr in their Round 8 fixture of the Roshn Saudi League, held at King Khalid Sports City Stadium in Tabuk.

Head Coach Christophe Galtier’s starting lineup included Luís Maximiano in goal; a defensive back four of team captain Mohammed Al Burayk, Khalifah Al Dawsari, Nathan Zézé, Fares Abdi; in midfield, Abbas Al Hassan, Amadou Koné, Abdoulaye Doucouré, and Saïmon Bouabré; with Alexandre Lacazette and Luciano Rodríguez leading the attack.

After a cautious start from both sides, the first dangerous chance fell to NEOM S.C., when Abbas Al Hassan struck a powerful shot in the 13th minute that was saved by Al Nassr goalkeeper Nawaf Al Aqidi.

Al Hassan came close again in the 19th minute, nearly breaking through on goal before Al Nassr defender Nawaf Boushal intervened to clear the danger.

After the 20-minute mark, Al Nassr took control of the first half, but NEOM S.C.’s defense and goalkeeper Luís Maximiano stood strong against attempts from Ronaldo, Mané, and Félix.

In the 35th minute, NEOM S.C. striker Lacazette picked up an injury and was forced to leave the pitch, with Ahmed Abdu coming on as his replacement. The remainder of the half continued evenly, ending scoreless at 0–0.

Just two minutes into the second half, Al Nassr’s Angelo capitalized on a rebound from Ronaldo’s free-kick to score the opening goal in the 47th minute.

NEOM S.C. attempted to respond with a strike from Ahmed Abdu that found the back of the net, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

In the 56th minute, NEOM S.C.’s Luciano Rodríguez was shown a straight red card by referee Abdullah AlShahri, leaving the team a man down and making the match more difficult.

Nine minutes later, Ronaldo converted a penalty to double Al Nassr’s lead. Although NEOM S.C. managed to reduce the deficit in the 84th minute through a goal from Ahmed Abdu, Félix sealed the victory for Al Nassr with a strike in the 86th minute to make it 3–1.

With this result, NEOM S.C. remains on 13 points, while Al Nassr moves up to 24 points.
