NEOM S.C. come back from Najran with a point after drawing with Al Okhdood
NEOM S.C. drew 1–1 away to Al Okhdood in the match held on Tuesday evening at Prince Hathloul bin Abdulaziz Sports City Stadium in Najran, as part of Round 19 of the Roshn Saudi League.
NEOM S.C. head coach Christophe Galtier started the match with Luís Maximiano in goal, protected by a back four of Khalifa Al Dawsari, Ahmed Hegazi, Nathan Zézé, and Faris Abdi. In midfield, Amadou Koné, Ali Hejji, Abdulaziz Noor, and Said Benrahma featured, while the attacking line was led by French striker Alexandre Lacazette alongside Rodríguez.
Al Okhdood took an early lead through striker Khaled Narey in the fourth minute, capitalizing on a lapse in NEOM S.C.’s defense. The first half ended with Al Okhdood in front despite several attempts by NEOM S.C. to find an equalizer.
In the second half, NEOM S.C. intensified their attacking pressure and were rewarded late on when Lacazette converted a penalty in the 86th minute to level the score. As NEOM S.C. continued to push for a winner, Al Okhdood player Naif Al-Assiri was sent off with a red card in stoppage time. Moments later, the referee blew the final whistle, confirming the draw.
With this result, NEOM S.C. moved up to 25 points in ninth place, while Al Okhdood remain 17th with 10 points.
