NEOM S.C. lose to Al Kholood in Roshn Saudi League 24th round
NEOM, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – February 28, 2026 – NEOM S.C. suffered a 2–1 home defeat against Al Kholood on Thursday evening at King Khalid Sports City Stadium in Tabuk, in Round 24 of the Roshn Saudi League.
Head coach Christophe Galtier started the match with Luís Maximiano in goal, protected by a back four of Khalifah Al Dawsari, Ahmed Hegazi, Nathan Zézé, and Faris Abdi. In midfield, Amadou Koné, captain Salman Al Faraj, Alaa Hejji, and Rayane Messi featured, while the attacking duo consisted of Alexandre Lacazette and Rodríguez.
First Half
Al Kholood stunned NEOM S.C. early in the game, opening the scoring through Hattan Bahbri in the 4th minute. However, NEOM S.C. responded quickly and equalized in the 12th minute via Rayane Messi, assisted by Faris Abdi.
In the 30th minute, Egyptian defender Ahmed Hegazi was forced off due to injury, with Awn Al Saluli coming on as his replacement. Both sides continued to push for a second goal, and Al Kholood regained the lead through Hattan Bahbri before halftime.
Second Half
In the second half, NEOM S.C. dominated possession and controlled much of the play. Despite creating several clear scoring opportunities, they were unable to find an equalizer. Late in the match, Khalifah Al Dawsari was sent off in the 89th minute, further complicating NEOM’s efforts. The referee eventually blew the final whistle, confirming a 2–1 victory for Al Kholood.
Following the result, NEOM S.C. remain eighth in the standings with 32 points, while Al Kholood climb to 14th place with 25 points.
