NEOM S.C. signs Portuguese goalkeeper Luís Maximiano

NEOM, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – September 10, 2025 – NEOM S.C. is delighted to announce the signing of Luís Maximiano from Spanish side UD Almería, reinforcing the club’s goalkeeping department with a player of proven European pedigree.

Maximiano, 26, is widely recognized for his sharp reflexes, excellent shot-stopping ability and commanding presence. His leadership qualities and consistent performance have made him a dependable figure between the sticks throughout his career.

The former Portugal youth international began his professional career with Sporting CP before moving on to Lazio in Italy, Granada in Spain and–most recently–UD Almería. This has seen him experience some of Europe’s most competitive leagues.

Maximiano’s arrival reflects NEOM S.C.’s long-term strategy of attracting elite international talent capable of making an immediate impact, further strengthening the squad and supporting the club’s ambitions during its debut season in the Roshn Saudi League.
