NEOM S.C. signs global star Alexandre Lacazette

NEOM, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia , July 1, 2025– NEOM Sports Club (NEOM S.C.) has announced the signing of internationally-acclaimed French striker Alexandre Lacazette, marking a significant milestone in the club’s ambitious journey to become a powerhouse in football.

Lacazette, 34, brings a wealth of experience and an impressive record, including over 200 goals for Olympique Lyonnais across two spells, an FA Cup triumph with Arsenal in the 2019/20 season, and a silver medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Ahead of NEOM S.C.’s debut in the Roshn Saudi League next season, this marquee signing underscores the club’s strategic vision at a pivotal moment in its evolution—building a cohesive, title-challenging squad, while attracting elite talent known for technical excellence, leadership and professionalism both on and off the pitch.

Lacazette began his professional career with hometown club Lyon in 2010 at the age of 19. His breakout 2014/15 season saw him score 27 goals, earning him the Ligue 1 Player of the Year award. In 2017, he joined Premier League giants Arsenal, where he netted 54 goals in 158 appearances before returning to Lyon in 2022. He departs Lyon as the club’s second-highest all-time scorer, with an extraordinary 201 goals in 391 appearances.

On the international stage, Lacazette earned his first senior cap for France in 2013. In 2024, he captained the national team as an overage player during the Paris Olympics, helping secure a silver medal on home soil.
