NEOM S.C. lose their game against Al Ahli in the Roshn Saudi League 18th round

NEOM, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – January 24, 2026– NEOM S.C. suffered a 3–0 defeat at home against Al Ahli in the match played on Saturday evening at King Khalid Sports City Stadium in Tabuk, as part of Round 18 of the Roshn Saudi League.

Head coach Christophe Galtier started the match with a lineup consisting of Luís Maximiano in goal; Khalifah Al Dawsari, Ahmed Hegazi, Nathan Zézé, Farid Abdi, and Mohammed Al Burayk in defense; Amadou Koné, team captain Salman Al Faraj, and Saïmon Bouabré in midfield; and the French duo Alexandre Lacazette and Luciano Rodríguez in attack.

First Half

Al Ahli had the first attempt of the match, with a timid opening chance from Ali Majrashi whose shot went over the crossbar. Play then shifted to midfield battles, with Al Ahli holding a slight advantage.

In the 20th minute, Amadou Koné struck a powerful effort that went just wide of the post, before Al Ahli responded quickly through Galeno, whose shot narrowly missed the top corner.

The remainder of the first half saw few clear-cut chances, despite NEOM S.C. finishing the half stronger and showing improved control in the final stages.

Second Half

After a goalless and low-tempo first half, Al Ahli took the lead in the 55th minute through a penalty converted by Ivan Toney.

In the 63rd minute, NEOM S.C. defender Khalifah Al Dawsari was shown a red card following a challenge on Galeno, after the referee reviewed the incident via VAR. From the resulting free kick, Riyad Mahrez doubled Al Ahli’s advantage in the 64th minute.

Enzo Millot added the third goal in the 67th minute, sealing the victory for Al Ahli.

With this defeat, NEOM S.C. remain on 21 points and sit 10th in the Roshn Saudi League standings.
