NEOM S.C. defeat Al Shabab with Benrahma's brace

NEOM, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – NEOM S.C. secured a valuable victory over visitors Al Shabab with a 2-1 win in Round 32 of the Roshn Saudi League, at King Khalid Sports City Stadium in Tabuk.

Head coach Christophe Galtier started the match with Marcin Bulka in goal, protected by a back four consisting of Faris Abdi, Nathan Zézé, Ahmed Hegazi, and Khalifah Al Dawsari. In midfield, Amadou Koné and Alaa Hejji featured alongside Abdulmalik Al Oyayari and Said Benrahma, while Luciano Rodríguez partnered French striker Alexandre Lacazette in attack.

First Half

NEOM S.C. imposed early control over the match and created several chances in the opening 15 minutes, but failed to convert them into goals. The breakthrough eventually came in the 19th minute when Said Benrahma converted a penalty to give NEOM S.C. the lead.

Following the goal, possession was shared between both sides, but Said Benrahma once again confirmed NEOM S.C.’s superiority just before halftime, scoring his second penalty of the evening to double the advantage.

Second Half

The second half followed a similar pattern, with NEOM S.C. continuing to push forward despite Al Shabab’s attempts to get back into the game. NEOM S.C.’s defensive organization made things difficult for the visitors, who only managed to pull one back through Yannick Carrasco in the 78th minute. The match eventually ended in a 2-1 victory for the hosts.

With this result, NEOM S.C. move up to 44 points in eighth place, while Al Shabab remain on 32 points in 13th position in the Roshn Saudi League standings.
