Jabal Al-Lawz
WHAT IS IT
Jabal Al-Lawz
Towering at 2,549 meters above sea level, Jabal Al-Lawz is a majestic peak that commands the surrounding mountain ranges in the north of NEOM. Known in Arabic as the “Almond Mountain,” Jabal Al-Lawz is an area rich in heritage and nature. Rock art and inscriptions can be found on your way as you climb the summit, where magnificent vistas await you at every turn.
Being the highest mountain in NEOM and enjoying a cooler micro-climate, thanks to the waters of the nearby Gulf of Aqaba, Jabal Al-Lawz receives snowfalls each winter, turning the raw and majestic landscape into a spectacular winter wonderland.

What to do
Jabal al-Lawz
Jabal Al-Lawz is the most majestic of mountains in NEOM. It is a two-day hike to the summit but a highly rewarding one. You may find inscriptions thousands of years old, meet locals tending their herds and if you are very lucky, see the beautiful but reclusive Arabian ibex.
In winter, head for Jabal Al-Lawz and enjoy the cooler breezes that wind through the peaks of the surrounding ranges and, if you time it just right, enjoy a day of snow and winter fun.
